Me, upon seeing the future arrive: eh, this is kinda dumb

Like the Segway, I think it’ll find a useful niche. Also like the Segway I don’t think it’ll be consumer.

Ooh, what if I get one of these AND a segway!but yeah, you're probably right

I’m doing leasing consulting at a senior community right now, and I think this would be super useful for older folks.
Expensive as hell for what it is , but useful.

At a senior community they could be shared resources. Interesting.

I’d rather have a dog.

Sorry, yes, that is what I was trying to imply.
Th e biggest thing would be preventing theft, which is the #1 concern for community use items at that kind of price.

And that would be an environment relatively free of stairs, too. Interesting ides

I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that was used in a way that justified their existence.

I have no use for one of those and the world is not wheelchair accessible enough for that to be terribly useful in many places.
I’m just imagining the hijinks when it gets confused and follows the wrong person.

Mall security made a lot of sense, and guided tours weren’t necessarily a terrible idea, although using them on sidewalks was.

Soooo, for the price of a 1/2 decent used car you can have the disembodied tow storage from a motorcycle follow you around while you walk in the rain?
Hard pass.
![]() 10/14/2020 at 15:41 |
|
Count me in when this is 10x cheaper.
![]() 10/14/2020 at 15:41 |

OK, in that context these *might* make sense but if you have the resources to buy one of these you probably have other, better options.

Yep, there’s nowhere in or around the building that isn’t handicap accessible.
That said, I’d be surprised if any modern building would/will be allowed to have unaccessible areas anymore.

an annoying plastic butt sniffer for $3250. Pass.

Oof, right in the feels. That's my old dogs cousin, by the look. Good dog.

Would they sell ten times as much if they were $300? I bet they would
![]() 10/14/2020 at 15:56 |

let me save you $3220
If you don’t want to bike or drive there are solutions

if my accounting class taught me anything (debatable) this would ensure a faster ride to bankruptcy.

And that’s exactly how I feel. If I saw this in a movie or read it in a book, I'd say "cool! We should totally have those! And I bet it wouldn't be that difficult". But then you see it in real life and I'm all " uh, I already have a backpack, and I bought a miata for that price".

If I was going to drop 3 grand on something for this...living in a city without a car, etc...I would seriously look at these
I’m sure you would feel the same way. Walking is for sucks.

400 pound capacity! Wow. And they got a photo of a full sized adult on the back and it doesn’t look completely ridiculous. And it folds. That’s quite the piece of engineering.
I wonder if I bought one, if I could fold it and put it inside that dumb robot, so I wouldn’t even have to carry it.....

If you could adjust the settings to fuck with someone and have it bump into their leg every time before stopping, you'd drive someone to murder

I guess I always thought that people who did things like mall security could walk faster on their own and should be easily fit enough to do so if I could. However, perhaps that is insensitive of me, since I didn’t have to walk up and down for an entire 8-hour shift.

Congratulations , you invented a horse

I casually stepped on our knockoff roomba one time after it slightly startled me. Told my wife no more robots in the house lol

Might be helpful for someone with a wheel chair. Not sure how but hmmmm

Will probably cost 2x that if billing out to Medicare.
![]() 10/14/2020 at 17:46 |

That’s about what my good backpacking pack cost. Will probably last a lot longer than this robot and is a lot easier to get on a plane.

Just wait until I release the cheaper version: the mule

Mule production is too complicated though

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him have sex with a completely different animal
